Inquisition torture tools
The exhibition of torture instruments
This is a collection of most barbaric medieval instruments of torture that we found in St. Petersburg museum.
Chair of spikes aka "Confession Chair"
This method of interrogation was used in Central Europe. A naked prisoner is seated on the chair in such a position that at the slightest movement pins are stick in his skin. Usually torture lasted for several hours. These chairs have different shapes and sizes, but they were all equipped with spines and immobilization of the victim.
Hand Saw
Run by two people who saw the convict, suspended upside down with legs tied to a pillar. The upside down position is causing the inflow of blood to the brain, forcing the victim to experience unprecedented flour during long time. This tool was used as a punishment for various crime, but particularly used against homosexuals and witches.
The Maiden of Nuremberg (Iron Maiden)
The idea of mechanized torture was born in Germany and its seams that the Nuremberg maiden was the first. It got its name because of the external similarities with the Bavarian woman, but also because first prototype was created and used in a secret dungeon at Nuremberg. The accused was placed in the sarcophagus where the body suffers injury from sharp spines that where located inside but located so that no vital organs to bee hurt, for a long time agony. Iron maiden was the punishment in special for fraud and they have to stay inside for three days.
The Head Crusher
Its function was quite simple: the victim's chin placed on a wooden or metal base, a cap screw device on the head. First, where crushed the teeth and jaw, and then, as the pressure increase, the brain tissue began to flow from the skull. This form of tortures was used in the Middle Ages especially by the Spanish Inquisition.
The Wheel

It was a very popular system of torture and execution, used only when a man was accused by witchcrafts or seditions. Typically, the procedure was divided into two phases, both quite painful. The first consisted in fractures of most of the bones and joints using a small wheel called the wheel crushing and outside with a lot of thorns. The second phase is designed for punishment. Popular kind of punishment combined wresting the flesh and burning at the stake or in the best case it will be decapitated.

And all this in the name of
And all this in the name of CHRISTIAN RELIGION. F**k Jesus...
Jesus healed and showed
Jesus healed and showed unimanginable love, Satan used his 'so called' beleivers for unimanginable evil. And so far his plan has worked in turning people away, like yourself....'F**k Jesus? No love Jesus, cause hes always loved you! F**k Satan!
Not going to lie, but alot of
Not going to lie, but alot of people who are Christian these days originated from people being forced into it. Satan has never forced himself unto his followers, it has always been their choice which path they choose. Unimaginable evil? My arse. Satanism isn't about what people think it is these days. Its not about slaying a goat and drinking its blood in a pentagram draw with blood. F*ck you, Christian c*nt.
geez. Can't we all just get
geez. Can't we all just get along? I'm a Christian myself, but I'm not going to FORCE anyone to to join me. And I can understand how my religion can sound just as strange as any other out there, but I'm not going to deny it, and I'm not going to SAY something like, "YOUR GOIN' TER HELL" or something like that. Sorry, but I can't imagine Jesus getting up in your face and screaming that, So I'm not going to either, however, let me say that Jesus DOES love you, and it breaks his heart to see people fighting like this..... so please stop.^-^
TO THE WHEEL WITH YOU,
TO THE WHEEL WITH YOU, HERETIC.

The religion forced onto
The religion forced onto these people was Catholicism, hence the Inquisition that occurred in Spain during the reign of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. In their eyes to be a truly unified nation and to be considered a Spaniard, you must be converted to Catholicism. They forced the religion on Jews and Muslims and peoples of other faiths. The Christian religion and the Catholic religion are two totally different beliefs in the sense of the practices, yet they both are derived from the belief in Jesus Christ. So for you to say that Christianity should be frowned upon for the said torture practices and forced conversions is quite inaccurate. Keep in mind that many nations at that period in history were theocratic, and many of the church hierarchy would do and say just about anything to have their religion at a dominating status. Many popes of the Catholic church deceived the followers and changed the word of God around in order to increase their revenues. Perhaps if you actually understood the basis of the Christian religion you would realize that true believers follow the word of God and live by the Ten Commandments. Their beliefs are based on faith, not reason; peace and not crime.
it wasn't just the catholics.
it wasn't just the catholics. when henry viii of england started his own church because the pope wouldn't grant him a divorce he persecuted both catholic and anyone who questioned his religious authority. the protestants and catholics took turns murdering each other for ages and the hatred still exists today although overt violence has subsided. now we have moslem/islamic fundamentalists as well as christian nutters who would gladly bring this all back and love to ply the tools of the trade.
dude, thats messed up... Just
dude, thats messed up... Just imagine being tortured like that, no ones sawing me while I'm hanging upside down naked.
ANY RELIGION THAT COULD HAVE
ANY RELIGION THAT COULD HAVE EVER ALLOWED THIS SHOULD BE TORN DOWN!!!
saying your a christian does
saying your a christian does not make you a follower of christ. there is a differance.true, many people who inflicted horrible pain on others claimed to be a christian, but a true christian hates this! there were several accounts of real christians journaling how they hated this. tourture is straight from satan, not from God
wow that's very nauseating to
wow that's very nauseating to even think about it
This all happened because the
This all happened because the Catholic Church started making thier own teachings. The poor were not educated enough to read the Bible and couldn't question it. The reformation started by Martin Luther has fixed all this. jesus never used torture and didn't believe in violence. How can you possibly blaspheme him saying this is all in his name. Those who did that were not true believers. Christians are expected to not follow the sermon on the mount rules Jesus has layed before us. However, many do not do this. Many have swayed from it and many sway people away from Christianity with foul attitudes. Nobody is perfect. To become a Christian all you have to do is try. Jesus loves everyone and grants you life after death if you follow in his name. Corrupt rulers will say anything to get you to follow them. They used Chrisitianity in this case which is very sad. Examples of miracles caused by Chrisitanity can be read and seen today. Jesus cured a man of leprosy walked on water all that but, normal people perform miracles as well. The modern missonaries work on what is considered "ethically right". They give food, medicine and water to the poor as well as spreading the word of God. If you have any questions about Jesus feel free to contact me. I will not judge you. I will simply show you the facts and try and bring the love of Jesus to you. pmbnleb@yahoo.com
pmbnleb@yahoo.com you are
pmbnleb@yahoo.com you are right
People have been and are being deceived by the false god (satan) God, does not have to prove to us that he exists, we must have faith and he will save us. It is already a won battle over satan (darkness) the bible says it clearly (maybe pmbnleb@yahoo.com can tell us the passage?) but when the time comes, you will be judged and in order to access eternal after life you will need you ''insurance and you key'' to get in the paradise.
Martin Luther fixed nothing.
Martin Luther fixed nothing. He did not reform the Church and bring back the true body, he created a multiplicity of denominations by his actions. He did not take it back to "square one" such as Jesus started; a people that gave up all and laid down their lives for each other in contrast to the rest of the worlds highly competetive and selfish ways. They "turned the world upside down". They gave up self interest and lived for the common welfare of each other. They were the "city set on a hill which gave it's light to all the world". Jesus showed them how because "in Him was life and the life was the light of men". He came to demonstrate the life that now was "on earth as is is in heaven". He said that the Kingdom of God was at hand. In the midst of them. They were doing it. And, we let it slip away. It was the remedy for all the worlds hateful and selfish evils. The remedy is a life for a life. We crucify ours and take on His by the power of his grace ministered through His Spirit. It's free to all men, but it came at an awful price. He gave us the litmus test to determine if we are truly His. See 1John. Or, read about it on http://www.twelvetribes.com/publications/litmus-test/
you're wrong. the poor were
you're wrong. the poor were not allowed to read the bible under penalty of law that included death. only church officials were allowed to read and interpret the bible. while you may be partly correct cocernng illiteracy, it was the penalty of getting caught that stopped many from reading the bible. as reforms and attempts at reforming that issue came into being it eventually changed but not without blood and death. what the church, especially the catholics did do was burn any books or records they could find to do with healing, folk remedies, and general knowledge to do with medicine and murdered the practitioners. the dirty part was they kept the knowledge for themselves to increase their power. look at what they did to galeleo (sp?) and so many other thinkers and men of scence. even today the catho;ic church is helping aids spread in africa by their condom propaganda. us based fundamentalists are encouraging and promoting the murder of gays in african nations as well. it really seems that every one of the monotheistic religions are still the biggest bthreat to humanity while conning people about what they really are about.
well this is horrible.....i
well this is horrible.....i cant believe people actually complain about da suffer today.....it was worse long time ago....
wow.....this stuff fascinates
wow.....this stuff fascinates me.
Religion does these
Religion does these things...... because religion is controled by MAN, who is flawed, therefore ALL RELIGION IS FLAWED. God does not believe in religion.... God does not invent religion... it's a man made concept. HENCE TORTURE "if you don't do what I say!"
yeah man is flawed and man
yeah man is flawed and man did create the concept of religion so whether there is a place where we go after we die or not that's for the dead to say not for ANYONE. Religion is a concept man made when he figured out that he was afraid of dying and not knowing what happened and to gain power whether to wield it in peace or in pain and greed it doesn't matter. I'm a pagan and even I don't believe in all the bs some people spout like fountains. I was a Christian once and I was baptized as one and i was raised by a Catholic so I'm not bs-ing or trying to be rude about the Catholic or Christian religion, but religion is just a concept and not necessarily a truth or fact. What would happen if you died and you found out at the last minute that you're not going to fly up into the arms of angels? I rather accept the fact that there is no guarantee that I'll go anywhere once I kick the bucket.

All in the name of a
All in the name of a peacefull and loving God?... boy, these guys were sick - and to think they still in business?
Holy Mother Church has never
Holy Mother Church has never admitted that the authorization and use of torture during the Inquisition and the compelling of civil authorities to burn heretics, under threat of excommunication, was wrong. John Paul II may have implied such in one speech he gave, but he never specifically referred to the Inquisition. Will an Ecumenical Council or a Pope ever acknowledge that the torture of heretics or forcing the civil authorities to burn them at the stake were grave sins? Such seems most unlikely.
bullcrap! they have guided
bullcrap! they have guided all manner of persecution throughout history. ever hear of the malleus malefacarum? yhe church issued more edicts against the reformers and those who took religion in different directions than you imagine including ordersand approvals as well as absolution for those committing the atrocities, or the documented evidence of the catholic church aidin nazis to escape at the end of wwii?
All in the name of
All in the name of religion...
Why do we still allow the nuts to go unquestioned? People always say I should have more respect for others religions, but I don't see why I should. Ideas are all open to criticism. If your idea cannot stand up to simple logic, it's time to rethink it.
God doesnt exist noobs

yes we were cruel, but hey
yes we were cruel, but hey the reformation was just lovely wasnt it?
in modern day its protestant and jewish zionism which is cruel.

no the churches do no openly wave their arms about and scream yes we hurt inoccent people and we liked it and shall do it again but you know what thats the way it is if you dont like it go fuck off and die so you can greet your perfect gods.....im pagan my people were torchered but so what? it was in the past.....and if it happens agin we shall simply have to stand together and put a stop to it,,,,that simple the fact that so many of wish to spend you time debating back and forth pointing fingers like children sickens me more than any text or image on these pages,,,,,grow up, open your minds and realise people are each alowed to see things as they wish to, let each have his or her own god or goddess or entity and leave it be,,,,act like adults not children....stop pointing fingers at what you dont understand..........control your fears dont let them control you or we will only end up the same.....
I think the point that we
I think the point that we might be deviatng from is that, the Catholic Inquisition phase was forced upon people as a means to get everyone to conform to catholicism and not "Christianity". Religion back in the day was used as a tool to controll the masses and politicians of those days weild religion as their main weapon. unfortunately it is still being done today to gather the masses, only its is done with a lot more subtle gimicks now (songs, miracle healing etc).
Now coming to another point, Jesus when on the earth did not preach CHRISTIANITY, all he did was inform people about the Creator and his kingdom and that when that kingdom would come on Earth, it would bring lasting benefits for all of mankind, even bringing an end to mankinds age old enemy, "DEATH". now who would'nt want such a condition? im not too sure....but the point is, he shared a common message that was not religion centric. the Inquisition on the other hand plunged followers of christ (Called as Christians) into a bad light for their own cowardice and selfish pursuits.
So to sum up things, the inquisition just goes to prove that age old prophecies of the Bible are being fulfilled!
