Study: men lie twice as often than women

Following a study commissioned by 20th Century Fox at the launch of the “Lie To Me” DVD, it was found that men say twice as many lies than women.

The research involved interviewing more than 2,000 subjects and was observing that the men say, on average, six lies a day. The most common lie to both sexes is "There's nothing wrong, everything is well”.

The most usual lies for men are lies about the escapades with friends out for drinks or about there partner appearance. Women lie mostly about the value or nature of the last shopping.

83% of subjects said that they can easily tell if their partner lie or tell the truth, but the body language experts believe that people overestimate their ability to identify the lies: "Most people can not read the signals. They think that if someone hides the truth, avoid direct eye contact or they will hide there face. In reality, things are exactly opposite, "says psychologist Richard Newman.
