Norwegian green prison

In this critical time where global warming is a usual word use in a sentence someone thing to do something to help the planet. Because green projects are everywhere in every domain, a man thing is time to introduce the green concept in something new like a prison. So in 2007 appeared after 10 years of hard working Bastoey Prison. It is situated on a deserted island in Norway.

The prison produce electricity whit the help of solar panel which was installed by the inmates. Also at the prison we find a garden where the inmates grow vegetables, grain and berries which are 100% natural. The surplus of food is send to other prison so nothing is wasted. The prison also has a farm where they are looking after domestic animals like cows, pigs, sheep and chickens. Being on the island, they could go fishing for more food when is necessary.

The director of the Bastoey Prison say that is not a usual prison and we will not find any wire and walls to stop the inmates to escape. He also say the inmates learn here to take responsibility and to something useful.
